I love every Sarah Dessen novel for individual reasons, but my favorite novel would be Lock & Key because I can relate to Ruby as a character more than any of the other main girls. However, my favorite guy was Dexter from This Lullaby. :D

It is so difficult to pick my favorite because they are all so amazing in their own way. Yet if I had to chose I would pick Along For The Ride only because I can relate the most to Auden. Every Sarah Dessen book is my favorite! I would have to say THE TRUTH ABOUT FOREVER though, just because I loved how Wes and Macy's relationship formed and grew throughout the entire book. I also love ALONG FOR THE RIDE, just because of Eli in general. I love them all, though!

I LOVE all of SD's books, but I think my absolute favorite is Keeping the Moon. I love Colby and it's all about being yourself. That said, The Truth About Forever is the one I've read the most. There's just something about trying to be perfect and realizing it's not all it's cracked up to be that hits home and makes me love it. I also made a necklace like the ones in Lock and Key so maybe I don't have a favorite... Hm.

Hands down my favorite Sarah Dessen book has to be This Lullaby. I've always wanted to date a guy in a band and Remy gets to in the story. Plus Dexter is super confident that him and Remy will work out since he is okay with her flaws. Also you have to love his challenge game - it's hysterical!

I read one or two of Dessen's books in high school, but I only remember this b/c I have copies (with much older covers!). I don't remember reading them and mean to re-read these, so for now, I'll say I haven't read her. I would especially love to read DREAMLAND because I hear the book is amazing and one of her best!

Even though I love all of Sarah's books, "The Truth About Forever" really stuck a chord with me. I've read it four times, and I'm still not remotely sick of it. The characters are likable, the issues addressed are so real. Plus, the scene with Wes and Macy always gets me--every time ("It's so she can fly").

ReplyDeleteMy favorite Sarah Dessen book is Along for the Ride. I really connected with Auden and her life. It made me realize that you need to do all the things teenagers do before you get to old and sometimes its ok to leave the textbook at home and enjoy time with your friends.

Sarah Dessen's books are just a way to escape from reality, but also in a way come to terms with it. Every Sarah Dessen book has taught me a valuable lesson, whether I wanted to hear it or not.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book, just so happens to be Just Listen.
Maybe because it's the one I remembered the most, or maybe it's just as simple as the fact that it speaks the unspoken. That not everything in life is perfect, that everyone goes through hard times and we pull through in the end because we can- we're strong enough to.
And if all is lost, we have each other and music.
I'm going through an incredible hard time right now and I've been rereading Just Listen over and over again along with a couple of my other favorite books. It's helping me a lot. Sometimes, all you need is a good book to make you feel better.
