What Did You Do This Year?

I've had a few people email me asking for a way to get extra entries for the contest I'm hosting. I thought long and hard about this and was trying to come up with something creative.

I was laying in bed last night unable to sleep and I was thinking about the best thing that has happened to me this year. I always have random thoughts like this. I was trying to think of everything I've done. Movies I've seen. Events I've witnessed. College assignments I've done. People I've talked too. And as I lay there, I made a note mentally in my head of everything I've done. And I came to a conclusion. I haven't done as much as I wished I would have!!! I mean sure I did write a 15 page paper for My English Composition class and let me tell you, that was a pain in the butt!!! But other than that I haven't done as much as I should have. I've watched amazing movies, I've read amazing books but what have I really done?? I celebrated my 4 year anniversary with my boyfriend. We've been together for 4 flipping years! It feels like we're an old married couple!!!!!

Like that isn't amazing enough, than I think back to the fall. And I think this hits a close top second!!! I went to a concert and it was the most amazing concert. I found out last minute that this artist was coming. When my boyfriend told me in the truck, I literally screamed and bounced up and down!!!! He said to me, "Cindy, I think you just broke my eardrum!"

I couldn't help myself. I was so excited. So over the next week, I hyped myself up. I turned the radio up all the way and I listed to his CD over and over again! I sung to his songs at the top of my lungs. I was so excited. I even told my mom, "I think if I could get within 10 feet of him, I'd faint."

Yes, I totally became fan-girlish. I was already a fan but when I found out he was coming to my town. hoooorrraaayyyy!

If you didn't know, I am totally obsessed with One Tree Hill. I've been watching it from day one and I adore the show. My two favorite characters: Chad M. Murray and Tyler Hilton. If you don't know who Hilton is, he was the actor who played Chris Keller. He was only on the show for a while as an aspiring singer. I loved him and that's what got him noticed in my eyes. He is an awesome actor, and singer!

Tyler Hilton, Tyler Hilton!!! YAY! YAY! So he was coming to my town to sing and I was so pumped up. I went to the concert. It was insanely packed!!! What are the chances I'll get to meet him right?

Yes, I know this picture of me is horrid. But I was on the verge of passing out and could barely say my name so I'm lucky I was standing up when the picture was taken!!!!! And my boyfriend was nice enough to take it, so lets be thankful my head isn't chopped off (he does not like my hot pink camera at all.) LOL

So, I've told you my story! So tell me yours! +5 into main contest

What was the most amazing thing to happen to you in 2008-2009?

The most amazing thing that's happened to me SO FAR? It sounds cheesy, but one of the best things for me was finally getting the courage to create my book blog! I've always toyed with the idea, but never got the nerve to do it. Especially since there are so many! I felt like it'd be a lost cause... but then I decided, what the hell! why NOT? I love books, and that's all that matters.

I'm so happy I went through with it! I LOVE being a book blogger now, and I've met a community that shares my enthusiasm (which is so nice since practically no one relates to my love of literature). Also, I'm starting college at the end of the month, and I can't wait. High school was overrated for cynical little me, LOL.

ew, fifteen page paper? I love writing but not when it comes to papers... I actually have composition my first semester. o_o;

Yay for meeting Tyler Hilton! I never watched One Tree Hill but it looks really good. (especially Chad Michael Murray...)

The most amazing thing to happen to me was that I became class president which was surprising and amazing also becoming a book blogger which was a great thing for me to do! Thanks for the contest!

The most amazing thing that's happened to me so far? Hmm...I'm actually going to say making dean's list second semester this year. I was in some really hard courses, and I would spend hours studying for exams. It was the worst in my bio class, where I would study at least 3 hours a night for the week leading up to the exam. The tests were impossible! I managed to make it through, however, and when I got an A I jumped around with joy. I also caught up after transferring from my first college (which was a horrible fit for me). So, I'll graduate on time! Woohoo.

WOW lucky you. I know that this is going to sound dumb but the only thing that I could think of that was amazing that happened to me is that I graduated. I was so close to not graduating because my dad had two surgeries this last year and I missed a lot, A LOT! of school. Also my last prom was on a boat called the Branson Belle or Showboat. That was really cool too.

Well, I've had a rather busy year. In February, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. In May we sold our house. In June we moved into our new house. In July, we replaced the windows and roof in our house and painted one of the bathrooms. What's the most amazing thing - it would have to be my beautiful baby girl...

Tyler Hilton!
I am so glad you like him! I remember back in the day when no one knew who he was, he came to Tulsa, and played at a coffee shop, and I could count on one hand the amount of people that showed up to see him (and I could name them all too!). Another time he came to town I was supposed to work for him, and sell his merchandise, but I came down with the flu :( I was majorly bummed about that!

Gosh, as for the most amazing thing I've done this year... 2009 has been somewhat boring so far, but if you count the last 12 months, the most amazing thing I did was probably last October, right after I finished the Twilight series, I went to visit a friend in Seattle, and we went on a little road trip to Forks. Which was really fun, because 1) I hadn't seen my friend in over a year, and we always have so much fun when we get together! 2) She's also really into Twilight 3) It was the first time I've EVER seen the Ocean, and so that was really special for me 4) I had never really been out of the midwest before then, and was shocked at how beautiful Washington is! We even went to the rain forest!

Meeting John Green and his brother Hank last November comes in a close second! He's the first author I have ever met!

Thanks for giving us a chance at more entries! With a contest this huge, we need all we can get! :P

I won three giveaways in one month at The Book Smugglers. Lol, I'm pathetic....

NO, changed my mind. It was when my boyfriend got Johnny Depp to sign a napkin "To Danielle"...yes, that was seriously the best moment of my life...

The most amazing thing that happened in 08/09 actually didn't happen to me, but effected me. I watched my son graduate high school and then head off to college.
It was traumatic but also the most amazing thing that as a parent makes me so proud of what a great kid I have.

One Tree Hill has been one of my favrotie shows for years! It sucks that it's so underated in the public eye. It has the best music of any show I've ever seen (I wish I could have have gone to the Bethany Joy Lenz/Tyler Hilton/The Wreckers tour that they had about 4years ago.)

The most amazing thing that happened so far this year was my sister moving back to town. I love her so much and missed seeing her when she lived in a different state. Now I get to spend way more time with her just goofing around, it's great.

The most amazing thing that has happened to me this year is definately going to Showchoir Camps of America. I went excited and pumped to go, but I didn't think it would be probably the best week of my life like it ended up being. It was amazing - I met so many amazing people from all across the country!

I graduated from college! Well, I'm still in college but I have my Associates. That was a pretty big deal for me because I got it in only 1 year - I worked my butt off! And I graduated, um, magna cum laude (I think that's how you would write that :S ). So, since I graduated, I'm now moving to Kalamazoo to go to Western Michigan University to work on my Marketing/Business degree... I'm moving 5 hours away from my home town and living on my own. It is going to be a very new experience. So that is probably the biggest happening in my life this year - even though it hasn't really happened yet.

Also, my grandpa died this year. I try not to think of it very much, which probably isn't very healthy, becuase I just pretend that he's at his house and I haven't visited him in awhile. But that was a pretty big, though unhappy, event. After he died and my dad and his siblings cleaned out the house and my dad ended up bringing some things home. I found a book that he bought from when I was on National Honor Roll in High School. This book is ridiculous - it is just filled with National Honor Roll Students - just their names, nothing exciting - for the entire nation. He bought the book because my name was in it. I seriously started sobbing - I've always been good at school - it is kind of my thing - and because of that I don't really get much recognition for it. It is just expected (and pretty much required) that I do well. It meant so much to me that he would buy that book because he was proud of me. Oh gosh, I'm crying again...

Yup, so there has been lots more I'm sure, but that's what comes to mind!

Cindy - I totally LOVE OTH! I own all the season and Tivo the current ones... Did you hear that Chad M. Murray and Hilari (forgot her last name but plays Peyton) aren't on the next season? They totally left the show... they were pretty much the main characters! I was really disappointed when I heard that.

I love Tyler Hilton too! But I hate Chris Keller... haha.

My boyfriend and I will have been together 4 years on October! Yay! Congrats to you guys too!

The most amazing this so far this year (because if I waited until October to tell you about my wedding.. it would be too late) was going to ALA. I went for three of the four days - just to exhibits. I got over a hundred books, met various authors, bloggers, and just random cool librarians. It was tons of fun! Yes, my back ached for weeks afterwards... but it was worth it.

The best thing that happened to me 2008-2009 was having my parents surprise my brother and I by taking us to vacation in Florida right after christmas. Then on New Years we charted a Sailboat and cruised around the Mexican Gulf watching fireworks and sipping sparkling cidar (aka champange). It was a great time and the highlight of my year.

The best thing so far was getting my First in Merit honor for my Honors Literature class. I absolutely loved the class and teacher, so it was really nice to receive the award.

I'm also really happy I started blogging.

The most amazing thing that probably happened to me this year was going to visit the place my parents grew up in. I went to Cambodia this summer; I got to meet a lot of relatives. I never knew I had so many cousins out in Asia! I had a lot of fun out there despite the humidity and heat. My other cousins (that came with me to visit) and I were able to ride on an elephant, and she was just the cutest thing! Let's go back a bit and talk about what REALLY surprised me on the trip. My family and I got off the plane and woah, was it hot. Getting into the car and out onto the road, I finally realized that no one is wearing seat belts, people were driving on the wrong side of the road and out of lanes, I was so scared that we could crash.
From the places I visited to the foods I ate (although I missed the occasional burger), my trip was probably the most amazing thing I've done this year.

The most amazing thing that happened to me this year was also the saddest. My 35 year old cousin passed away from a brain tumor two months ago and leaves behind a wonderful husband and 4 young children. While we have been devastated by the loss we have also been extremely touched by the outpouring of love and support for her and all of our family. She was an amazing person and she did more in her short lifetime than many people will in twice as many years. This has made us appreciate everything so much more.

well sadly nothing amazing has happened to me this year, actually it's been kinda crappy. :( Some little things happened that were great though. I hit a year without smoking, I went and saw an awesome Green Day concert, my tbr hit 1200 lol, I think that's it...at least that I can remember.

I would have to say my most amazing thing this year is what has happened just recently. I got up the courage to finish college so I can go get my Master's in Library Science. I am the old one in class at the local university. I also started working in an academic library part-time so now I get experience being what I one day will have my master's in. YAY!

Hm this is actually a really tough question to answer! I think the best thing to happen to me this year was to do well in college and meet more people. I have had a good year with friends and family, and I have traveled also. I guess I am saying more than just one thing, but I cant think of something that sticks out! I went to a few concerts and had sooo much fun, and I had a pretty good summer! All in all, this year has been pretty amazing for me!!

The most amazing thing I did so far this year was a road trip with my mother and sister!! We went to Nashville and London, Versailles,Elizabethtown, and Louisville (KY). Being the big movie fanatics that my sister and I are, we were chasing down scenes from the movie Elizabethtown . I took well over 400 pictures on the trip (which isn't surprising because I love pictures). Want to see some? http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2017393&id=1495590061&l=f78fb7f4b7
Anyways, that's my awesome event of the year thus far!!
So, (if this still counts) + 5 for the main contest.

If it doesn't, no biggie - I actually found this post because I looked at your user profile and saw that you love Tyler. TYLER HILTON is my favorite musician of all time and I am incredibly jealous that you got to meet him. If you're not already, follow him on Twitter. He shares pictures and his posts are fun! Also, if you haven't heard (you probably have but) he's working on new music!!! YAY!

Hmmm... what is the best thing that happened to me in 2009?

It would probably be finishing all of the classes I need to take to receive my master's degree in musuem education. Now I just need to finish writing my thesis so I can graduate in December.

But not having to go to class is really exciting!!! I have been in school since I was 4 years old.

Now if only I could finish my thesis, then I could be done with school.

The most amazing this year so far has been my 8th grade trip to Washington D.C.. I had been waiting for this trip since I was like in 1 grade. I had such a great trip better than I thought it would be and now I just wish I had written down everything we did,

Another amazing thing is graduating from my small school I have been at since kindergarten. The kids in my class are like my brothers and sisters we even called ourselves a dysfunctional family.

The most amazing thing I've done this year was complete the first draft of a full-length novel with my sister. We set out at the beginning of the summer to write this novel about a werewolf. By the end of July, we had finished it. Now, we've entered the editing stage and hopefully we'll be querying soon. We've done a lot to get ourselves in gear with our writing, including starting a blog that features some of our writing for free. All of this has been big accomplishments for me since I had never really devoted myself to my writing like I would like.

Tyler Hilton's great...It's awesome that you got to meet him!
