Meridian by Amber Kizer

Summary: Sixteen-year-old Meridian has been surrounded by death ever since she can remember. As a child, insects, mice, and salamanders would burrow into her bedclothes and die. At her elementary school, she was blamed for a classmate’s tragic accident. And on her sixteenth birthday, a car crashes in front of her family home—and Meridian’s body explodes in pain.

Before she can fully recover, Meridian is told that she’s a danger to her family and hustled off to her great-aunt’s house in Revelation, Colorado. It’s there that she learns that she is a Fenestra—the half-angel, half-human link between the living and the dead. But Meridian and her sworn protector and love, Tens, face great danger from the Aternocti, a band of dark forces who capture vulnerable souls on the brink of death and cause chaos.

My Thoughts: I really had no idea what this was about when I first heard of it. Than it got more and more raves all over the blog-sphere so I decided to check it out! Had the hardcover edition! I have a few friends who didn't like it and a few who did so I just had to read it to see what my opinion would be. I did enjoy it and finished it within a few days. We meet Meridian (what a cool name) and I instantly liked her personality. She is a little bit confused on the whole idea that she could be a Fenestra. But she accepts it pretty rationally. She doesn't jump up and down mad that she has to leave her family, she is pretty mature about it. She goes off to live with her Great Aunt's house. We learn about Tens (not the first time I've heard this name) and his back-story along with the Aternocti's story. The chapters quietly unfold theirselfs and we learn why it is happening to her and why she is thrown into the middle of it. I liked the whole concept of the window. Won't give too many spoilers away. Was very interesting!

Overall: I liked it and finished it within a few days. A lot of people seem to want this book so I'm sure it will continue to circulate the blogs! If you get the chance to read it, please do. This is one of those books I actually took the dustjacket off to read because I didn't want to ruin it. Overall, quick fun read.

Cover: I think the cover is cute! I also like the colors, they just seem to go together if that makes sense. Especially the flowers on the front!

This Weeks boyfriend is
Justin Chambers

Justin was born in Springfield Ohio in 1970. He is a former male fashion model representing Calvin Klein. He is five foot 11 inches tall. He has a twin brother, another brother and 2 sisters.

I first remember seeing Justin the in movie The Wedding Planner (best movie ever). He played the character of Massimo. I had no clue who he was back than, but thought he was a cutie. I started watching Grey's Anatomy 2 summers ago and was addicted from the get go. Most of us know him as Alex Karev On Grey's. All the doctors on Grey's are delicious but Alex is definitely one of my favorites!

If you need to go see a doctor, go see Alex ( I think I'm sick mommy, I need to go get a checkup).

Whats Yours? Don't forget to leave your Mr Linky Here!!!!!

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Summary: For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

My Thoughts: I'll start off by saying I've heard this book compared to Twilight multiple times. Some people hate it, some people love it. I am a huge Twilight fan. Yes, I'm one of "those."

Well, what can I possibly say to sum up this book? I'm in love with it. Like seriously all the way in love with it. I finished it in a day. Once I started it, I could not stop. Eating became a chore because I just needed to have the book in my hand or else I would go insane. I'm still left breathless. The whole story, the words, the plot, the characters are beautiful. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Its just too bad I had the ARC, because now I have to buy the finished copy! Its definitely one I need to have sitting on my bookshelf. It must be bought! haha! I loved Grace, but most of all I loved Sam. I loved him as a wolf, I loved him as a human. I loved the way the chapters unfolded. Each chapter is told from each characters point of view, one will be Grace's and the next Sam's. But it does not jump around and it goes along as the story goes. We learn how they felt eachother through eachother. I usually do not like books that switch points of view, but this just made it more special. I really wanted to know what Sam was thinking and how he "felt." Amazing! It is a good thing its called Shiver, because it will literally make you Shiver. The whole book, I wanted to go out and play in those woods!! Now I am left wanting to read Linger, which isn't due out for a while. Darn me. LOL! I won't go into too many other details because you need to just read this book!!! I don't give too many books this kind of review, because most books I read once than I move onto something else. Its just my way. But this one,,,, lets just put it this way, if you haven't read it yet, go to amazon and buy it right now! If you like beautiful romance stories, this is for you!

Overall: GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT, Do you get my point yet?

Cover: Its pretty, a little plain, but the rest of the book makes up for it!!!

Tv/Movie Tuesday 9/22(7)

Tv and Movie Tuesdays consist of upcoming movies and tvs shows that must be seen!

Clark must deal with a variety of individuals given powers by the green rocks, keep his powers a secret, cope with his friendship with a young Lex Luthor, and balance the two girls in his life, Chloe and Lana. The show also shows us how Lex Luthor develops from a friend of Clark's and kinda-okay guy to (presumably) the villain who will plague Superman in his later years.

New Season Starts September 25th! Yes Yes I am a huge fan of this show! I'm sure it doesn't hurt that Tom Welling is in it!!!! I love everything about this show, not to mention it was the very first thing my boyfriend and I talked about over 4 years ago!!! Tune in, and if you haven't watched it, go rent the DVDS NOW!!!!!

Supernatural

Summary: Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as Dean and Sam Winchester, two brothers who travel the country looking for their missing father and battling evil spirits along the way. Sam Winchester is a college student bound for law school, determined to escape his family's past - unlike his older brother, Dean. Ever since they were little their father has been consumed with an obsession to find the evil forces that murdered his beloved wife, in result recruiting and training his two young sons to help him in revenge. They have grown up as hunters of the supernatural. Sam escaped under the premise of going to college, and now has a happy life with his girlfriend, Jessica, and a promising future career. Dean, however, stayed behind with his father to join him in his "hunting". Dean goes to Sam for help when their father goes missing. Now Sam must join his brother to find him. His one weekend trip to search for the missing John Winchester becomes an ongoing quest after a horrible tragedy ruins any thought of a happy life for Sam.

Ok, so what I'm a big fan of Jensen and Jared, aren't you? They are hotties, they are tough, smart, sarcastic, and totally mind blowing! This show is awesome, and you need to watch it.

Yep I'm a total tv junkie I admit it!!!! Theres arent even half of what I tivo! HAHA!

Monday, September 21

Cindy's Boyfriend Of The Week (6)

Every week on Monday I host Cindy's Boyfriend Of The Week. It is mainly just a feature where I talk about how devoted I am to actors, singers, etc.

This Weeks Boyfriend Is:
Matt Lanter

Matt was born in Ohio in 1983. He is 5 foot 10 inches tall. He first gained the attention of fans when he was selected as a contestant in the 2004 reality tv show, Manhunt. Although he did not win, he was in the top 10. He was the voice of Anakin in the Clone Wars tv show.

I first noticed Matt in 3 episodes of Point Pleasant. But he really got my attention when he showed up on Heroes. He played Brody for 5 episodes. I purposely watched The Cutting Edge 3 movie just to see him!

Now where is he? The CW Show 90210! He plays Liam Court. I was so happy when I first found out he was going to come on 90210! What can I say? This guy is a cutie! And he's more my age than a lot of my other boyfriends of the week! Who can resist those deep blue eyes? whoa baby!

Oh, and the scene from last season where he has Naomi against the locker kissing her? Makes my heart melt everytime!!!!

Come Here Liam and Smack Me With Those Delicious Lips!!!

Heartbreak River by Tricia Mills

Summary:Once a carefree river rafter in her small town in Colorado, Alex, 16, spends the summer after her dad’s drowning feeling scared of the water and overcome with sorrow and guilt. After Dad came home severely depressed from serving in Iraq, should Alex have spent more time with him instead of hanging out with gorgeous Sean? Why did she tell Sean that her father’s death was his fault? If only she could make herself apologize. There is too much going on in this first novel, with its big cast of teens who Alex supervises at her grandparents’ rafting business. But Mills builds suspense in both the romance and the moving drama of family secrets and loss. The fast talk and Alex’s first-person narrative are right on, especially in the quarrels. Best of all is the setting, which is powerfully described in scenes of Alex struggling to overcome her phobia and return to the wild rushing river she loves

My Thoughts: I really loved all the characters in this book. Even the ones we weren't "supposed" to like. I liked the whole concept of the book. It was summertime, there was water, it was a great book. I liked the girls in the book, I loved the guys in the book! It was one of the few that I've read this year that I really loved. Lately books have just been mediocre to me, but this one was really good and interesting. I wanted to keep reading it because I actually wanted too, not because I "needed" too. This book is full of parties, fights, flirtations, betrayals and jealousies! It is definitely worth a read!!!

Overall: Great Book!! Go To The Library Or Buy It! Add it to your To Be Read List!

Cover: This cover is very enticing. It has a nice romantic element to it!!! Really Really like the cover!

Zombie Queen Of Newberry High by Amanda Ashby

Summary: Quiet, unpopular,non-cheerleading Mia is blissfully happy. She is dating super hot football god Rob, and he actually likes her and asked her to prom! Enter Samantha--cheerleading goddess and miss popularity--who starts making a move for Rob. With prom in a few days, Mia needs to act fast. So she turns to her best friend, Candice, and decides to do a love spell on Rob. Unfortunately, she ends up inflicting a zombie virus onto her whole class, making herself their leader! At first she is flattered that everyone is treating her like a queen. But then zombie hunter hottie Chase explains they are actually fattening her up, because in a few days, Mia will be the first course in their new diet. She's sure she and Chase can figure something out, but she suggests that no one wear white to prom, because things could get very messy.

My Thoughts: We meet Mia who likes Rob and wants him to like her back so she tries to put a love spell on him, instead putting a spell on everyone... to become zombies. She really really wants to go to prom with him but of course she starts falling for someone else. The best way to describe this book was fluff. I use that term when its a book to read that is quick and doesn't require too much thought and when you need to sit down for a few hours and finish the book. It shouldn't take you too long to read unless you only read 10 minutes a day or so. Its around 200 pages. It doesn't go into too much detail and it pretty much flies by. Other than the school, there isn't hardly anywhere else the story takes place.

Overall: This book is good for a night your home alone and just want to do some light reading. It isn't the best book I've read all year but it sure isn't the worst either. I've heard from a few people they did not enjoy this book but I actually liked it. So should you read it? Sure!

Cover: I actually do like the cover. I think its done well since she wants to go to prom, etc. My boyfriend has been asking me more about the books I read lately. He asked me why proms always involve zombies? LOL

Tv/Movie Tuesday 9/22 (6)

Tv and Movie Tuesdays consist of upcoming movies and tvs shows that must be seen!

Since September is the month of all the new tv shows starting, I will focus on tv shows all month!! YAY!

This Week's TV Tuesday Focuses on some shows I already watch that shouldn't be missed!!!

How I Met Your Mother

How I Met Your Mother is a comedy about Ted (Josh Radnor) and how he fell in love. It all starts when Ted's best friend, Marshall (Jason Segel), drops the bombshell that he's going to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Lily (Alyson Hannigan), a kindergarten teacher. At that moment, Ted realizes that he had better get a move on if he too hopes to find true love. Helping him in his quest is Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), a friend with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women. When Ted meets Robin (Cobie Smulders), he's sure it's love at first sight, but destiny may have something else in store. The series is narrated through flashbacks from the future.

I Am ALMOST caught up on this show. I rented the discs all summer! I'll be gladly pumped up for the next season for this week!!!! This show is pretty awesome!!!

Brennan has been teamed with Special Agent Seeley Booth, a former Army sniper who mistrusts science and scientists when it comes to solving crimes. Brennan and Booth clash both professionally and personally, but the chemistry between them has grown since they first met and has made them a strong and trusting team.

This show is amazing and I can't wait to watch the new episodes. If you do not watch it yet, get right on netflix and add the seasons to your que! And the plus, it has David Boreanaz in it, ohhhh babyy!!!! I miss Buffy and Angel!!!

Cindy's Boyfriend Of The Week (5)

Every week on Monday I host Cindy's Boyfriend Of The Week. It is mainly just a feature where I talk about how devoted I am to actors, singers, etc.

This Weeks boyfriend is

Josh Holloway

Josh was born July 20, 1969 in California. He is 6 1 1/2 foot tall. He grew up in Free Home, Georgia. His first job was picking up dead chickens at a farm. He was chosen by "People" magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World. He is of Dutch and Scottish heritage.

Ok, what can I say about this guy? He is extremely beautiful. I'm talking one of the most beautiful men on earth. If you watch Lost, you know what I'm talking about. And if you don't, you are MISSING OUT! He's been in a few movies as well but Lost is the icing on the cake. Him and Kate on Lost, well the chemistry is amazing and if you don't like all the other stuff, watch it for that alone. Or for him!!! He's got pretty eyes, and great hair! And, everything else is just a bonus. Even the way he talks on Lost is pretty much all that. Yep, you heard it from me, he is all that and a bag of potato chips (what can I say, he makes me go all school girlish)!!!!

Summary:Within a few weeks after their breakup, Audrey’s boyfriend, Evan, writes and performs a rock song about their split that catches the attention of a music executive and catapults Evan and his band to stardom. Because she is the song’s subject, Audrey suddenly becomes a celebrity, too, and over the course of a school year, she finds herself dodging paparazzi, rock stars in search of a muse, and star-crazed classmates. Set in Southern California, Benway’s memorable debut is a highly entertaining fantasy of teen fame, narrated in Audrey’s sardonic voice and perfect timed comedic lines that channel contemporary YA culture: “It makes my parents crazy how I can do all of this at once, talk on the phone and email and IM. I’m just like, how can you not?"

My Thoughts: Audrey, Wait! is an amazing book! Its one of the best books I've read this year! I just loved it from start to finish! I usually don't rate books this high because either 1. They just aren't that great. 2. Because they don't seem to compare to my obsession of how good The Twilight Saga or Harry Potter was. I do enjoy books but I don't love love love them! This one was one I actually loved. I loved Audrey, and I loved James. I even loved to hate Evan! I don't know why I waited so long to read this. It stayed on my wishlist for a while, than once I got it it went on the bookshelf until a few weeks ago, I needed a new book for a paperbackswap game and it had to be young adult so I choose to put this one in! This book had it all. Humor, belonging, and a sense of excitement. Have you ever dated a boy in a band? I have and I've been there before! I totally understood Audrey!!! Go out and rend this book, like now! Are you at the bookstore yet?

Overall: GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT, thats really all there is too it!

Cover: I really this this cover is cute! It totally fits. I had the softcover so this was the cover. I looked and the hardcover image is different. I definately prefer this one over the hardcover.

The Comeback by Marlene Perez

Summary: Sophie Donnelly is one half of the most popular and powerful couple in school, until new girl Angie Vogel shows up and compromises everything. Angie steals Sophie's starring role in the school play, and, worse, her super-popular boyfriend. Sophie has been quickly dispatched to social Siberia, but not for long--she'll do anything it takes to make a triumphant comeback.

My Thoughts: Sophie was.... at first I thought she seemed like a spoiled brat. She thinks she has to be popular. She really believes she has to be! I did not like her at the beginning of the book. I almost gave up because she started to annoy me, but I hate not finishing books so I read on. She wanted to be lead in the play and her life starts to crumble downwards a little at a time. I liked how she did change a little bit even though putting up pictures of Angie during fat camp was pretty mean. But I can definitely remember high school and some people are that mean. I did like that she changed a little bit but I really liked who she ended up with at the end of the book. That was my favorite part. I won't go into names so I don't spoil it for everyone else. It was a quick read for me and I'm glad I read it, just don't give up when you start. It does get better.

Overall: It was interesting to say the least. I've heard mixed reviews about this one and didn't know what to think. I'm happy the way things played out. Its also on the 4 for 3 ($8.99) deal on amazon right now!

Cover: I like the cover. I think its artistic and its actually pretty up close. The pink kind of has a shine to it.

A Tale Of Two Demon Slayers by Angie Fox

Release Date: February 2010

Summary: Last month, I was a single preschool teacher whose greatest thrill consisted of color-coding my lesson plans. That was before I learned I was a slayer. Now, it’s up to me to face curse-hurling imps, vengeful demons, and any other supernatural uglies that crop up. And, to top it off, a hunk of a shape-shifting griffin has invited me to Greece to meet his family.

But it’s not all sun, sand, and ouzo. Someone has created a dark-magic version of me with my powers and my knowledge—and it wants to kill me and everyone I know. Of course, this evil twin doesn’t have Grandma’s gang of biker witches, a talking Jack Russell terrier, or an eccentric necromancer on its side. In the ultimate showdown for survival, may the best demon slayer win.

My So-Called Death by Stacey Jay

Release Date: March 2010

Summary: One second, sophomore Karen Vera's on top of the most fabulous cheer pyramid ever. The next, she's lying on the pavement with seriously unflattering cranial damage. Freakishly alive without a pulse, Karen learns that she's a genetically undead zombie.

Soon, Karen is sent off to DEAD High, a boarding school for the "death-challenged," and her non-life is suddenly an epic disaster. She's stuck with a greasy-haired, wannabe-Goth roommate who hates her guts. She's chowing down on animal brains every day to prevent rot (um, ew?). Even worse, someone is attacking students and harvesting their brains for a dark ritual . . . and it might be the hottest guy at DEAD High, the one who makes Karen's non-beating heart flutter!

As more brains are stolen—including her best friend's—Karen tracks down the brain snatcher to save her fellow students from certain zombie death.

Ready.......Set.......Go......

Breathless by Lurlene McDaniel

Summary: What is the toughest request anyone can be asked to fulfill?

Travis Morrison is a champion diver and one of the most popular kids at school. On the first day of summer vacation, while boating on the lake with his friends, Travis attempts a silly stunt dive that goes wrong. He fears he has broken his leg. Instead, his trip to the hospital reveals he has a rare form of cancer, and to save him, the doctors tell his parents they must amputate. In an instant, Travis’s life and the lives of everyone around him are forever changed.

Travis is determined that he and only he should decide the course of his life. He has a plan, but he can’t carry it out alone. Will he convince one of his friends to fulfill his most important request?

My Thoughts: WOW! Another one of those books that leaves me at the end, with a what next? Who did it? My mouth literally dropped open. From start to finish this book was pretty awesome! I usually do not like where it switches between different people's thoughts, but this book, it actually worked!!! We meet Travis who is a diver. He is a athlete! We meet his sister, his girlfriend, and his best friend. This story is told from each of their perspectives. Do we have a choice on the way we want to die? Should it be our choice? Do we have a say in it? From start to finish, this book is amazing. Travis gets in accident and from there on we learn his story!

Overall: Great Book! One I'd recommend you read this year. Of course its also under 200 pages but definitely worth reading. I read it in one sitting which I usually can not do anymore. This book addresses a tough choice. And the last few pages will leave you with a what the heck just happened expression on your face!

Cover: I think it does fit the book but didn't draw me in as much as usual. At first glance, it takes a minute to actually realize what the picture is (he's in the water) The story is what got me on this one.
