The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove by Lauren Kate

Summary: A steamy Southern beauty makes one fatal mistake.

Natalie Hargrove would kill to be her high school’s Palmetto Princess. But her boyfriend Mike King doesn’t share her dream and risks losing the honor of Palmetto Prince to Natalie’s nemesis, Justin Balmer. So she convinces Mike to help play a prank on Justin. . . one that goes terribly wrong. They tie him to the front of the church after a party—when they arrive the next morning, Justin is dead.

From blackmail to buried desire, dark secrets to darker deeds, Natalie unravels. She never should’ve messed with fate. Fate is the one thing more twisted than Natalie Hargrove.

My Thoughts: This is a book I had a hard time getting into. Well, it started off interesting, towards the middle it dulled down just a little bit. But by the end, I was really interested again. The middle just went into too many details I think. We all have our different tastes in books though so maybe someone else may like the middle of the book. I know I shouldn't have liked Justin but I did from the get go. Mike was just "ok" to me. Natalie had been through a lot (we realize that by the end of the book) and she started to grow on me by that point. I didn't really know much about her or why she did the things she did or acted the way she did but by the end, I finally get it!!! I think it was an interesting read just not as good as I had hoped. But if your a fan of gossipy books than you'll probably like it. Either way, its worth a read rather you buy it or bug your library to get a copy!

Overall: An interesting read. When it gets slow, just stick with it, because by the end it does get really good and you understand EVERYTHING that was confusing towards the middle. I think Lauren Kate is going to be a great author (this is my first book by her). The cost isn't to bad either, you can pre-order it from amazon for under $10.00. It comes out November 12th.

Cover: I think the cover is awesome! And isn't the guy a cutie? He is, He is! Awesome Cover!

What I'd Give It:
