As You Wish by Jackson Pearce

Summary: Ever since Viola's boyfriend broke up with her, she has spent her days silently wishing—to have someone love her again and, more importantly, to belong again—until one day she inadvertently summons a young genie out of his world and into her own. He will remain until she makes three wishes.

Jinn is anxious to return home, but Viola is terrified of wishing, afraid she will not wish for the right thing, the thing that will make her truly happy. As the two spend time together, the lines between master and servant begin to blur, and soon Jinn can't deny that he's falling for Viola. But it's only after Viola makes her first wish that she realizes she's in love with Jinn as well . . . and that if she wishes twice more, he will disappear from her life—and her world—forever.

Jackson Pearce spins a magical tale about star-crossed lovers, what it means to belong . . . and how important it is to be careful what you wish for.

My Thoughts: Wow, Wow, Wow. I'll start off by saying that I loved this book. We are introduced to Viola who is 16, lonely, nothing can ever go right, and she just wants to fit in. She had the life before. She had a hot boyfriend named Lawrence and she felt like she belonged with him. Now she's alone and feels like an outsider. Her boyfriend was once her best friend, than they got together, than he realized he was gay. Not Viola's happiest year. She is just kind of there, almost invisible to everyone. Nobody dislikes her but nobody really loves her either. Except in a best friend kind of way. Than comes along Jinn aka a genie to grant her 3 wishes. Jinn just shows up, wants Viola to wish so he can go back home. The longer he stays in the mortal world, the more he ages. He stops worrying about it so much after a while but its still fun to see how scared he was becoming.

At first Viola thinks shes going crazy because she is the only one who can see him. She than realizes he is real! This book was cute and had a bit of fluff but it was awesome. It was so addicting once I started reading I couldn't put it down until the ending. Viola ends up getting a new boyfriend Aaron and finally is becoming somebody again. She paints and has her best friend, what more could a girl want?

I really liked Jinn, I enjoyed his presence and wanted to see him on every page. He is sweet and he really cares about people. He does not just force his master to wish, he wants them to wish for things they want, he does not want them unhappy.

I liked all the relationships throughout this book. I liked how Viola and Lawrence stayed friends after the breakup. I liked how Lawrence and Jinn became friends, and I especially liked Jinn's and Viola's relationship.

Overall: Amazing book. I haven't read much about genies but Jinn is irresistible and a very lovable character.

Cover: I think the cover is cute enough. Yes, its somewhat plan but I think it does the book justice.

What I'd Give It:
