Catching Fire

By Suzanne Collins

Summary: Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

My Thoughts: I loved this one so much I despised some of it. We are back with Katniss and the gang and this time a rebellion is on the horizon and Katniss fears her and Peeta created it! Of course, they did in a way. Katniss is back living in district 12, she's still staying in her old house while her family is now in the Victors Village enjoying life a bit more privileged than before. Gale is still around and he seems like he's more angry and resentful to Katniss than he used to be. He had all this time to tell Katniss how he felt yet he just waited to darn long! Peeta is also around but he's barely talking to Katniss because he basically feels she played him even though he knew her feelings were all just a ploy all along for publicity, but really I think she did feel something towards him; maybe just not die hard love.

I didn't feel Catching Fire was as great as The Hunger Games. Mainly, because we had already been through the games once so the second time wasn't as thrilling. Yes, we got to know more of the players this time but I never felt much connection to the new players. I also hated the way they had to go back in so soon after they got out, I wanted to just scream that it had to be now! Give them some time and space to adjust darnit! Most of the time, I just wanted Peeta and Katniss to come out winners again. I did like some of the challenges they faced in the arena again. I wanted them to fall in love; really fall in love and live happily after ever. I can't say much of anything else that hasn't already been said so go read the books now!

Overall: Loved it. This series keeps getting better and better! I know my reviews are a little vague on this trilogy but honestly I don't want to ruin the series for anyone!

Cover: Like it! I still like the first one's a bit more.

What I'd Give It:
