Summary: No one wants to be this teacher’s pet . . .

Everyone else is talking about Eastlake High’s gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck, but Kaylee Cavanaugh has bigger things on her mind. Kaylee’s a banshee—her scream is a portent of death.

But the next scream might hit too close to home. Kaylee’s borrowed lifeline has almost run out.

Yeah—it’s a shock to her, too. So to distract herself from her own problems, Kaylee is determined to defend her school against the latest supernatural threat. That hot new teacher is really an incubus, who feeds from the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend’s delinquent ex-girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck…before he discovers they aren’t quite human either.

But Kaylee’s running out of time, and those who love her will do anything to save her life.

Anything.

Soul Screamers: The last thing you hear before you die.

My Thoughts: So up until this point, I have thought every Soul Screamers have been great and each one gets better than the last. I didn't think anything could beat out My Soul To Steal. It was pretty fantastic, right? Well, I dived right into If I Die and I was beyond astonished. If I Die brings this series to a whole new level. It's intense, it's romantic, it's just plain cruel we have to wait so long for the next book.  I need it right now and it could be another year until its released. I want to cry. I want to laugh because I'm so desperate for the next book.

If I Die starts off with Kaylee learning she is going to die. Yes, we are all going to die at some point, but she has a week to live. A freaking week? She can't even accomplish all the things she dreams of doing within the week. How is she supposed to deal with this? And whats worst, there is a new teacher at her school sucking the life right out of students. He leaves a slew of dead or crazy girls behind.  Come to find out, he wants a son bad enough that he must get as many teen girls pregnant as possible, in hopes of getting a son out of the deal. Sick, right? Well, he isn't human, what do you expect? And of course, because he is just full of lust, all the girls want him including Emma.

I thought that storyline was pretty decent and out there but really I was more interested in Kaylee's storyline. I thought it was crazy she only had a week to live, and she has a new reaper following her around ready to kill her off.  He was pretty annoying and mean.

Than there is her relationship with Nash and Sabine still trying to get with him every chance she gets. Like Kay doesn't have enough problems to worry about. Kay and Nash are trying to work out their problems from the last book but I never really felt connected to him anymore. The first few books I liked him, but than I turned Team Tod and have been waiting for a spark to happen between Kay and Tod. Did I get my wish? Kinda, sorta, finally. Was it everything I had hoped for? Yes. Yes. Yes. Do I want more? Freaking big yes! Of course, the moments between Tod and Kay weren't enough to settle my hunger and they were too far apart.

Tod becomes my hero in this book. Really! We learn how and why he died. We learn just what he will sacrifice for Kay. We learn what kind of reaper he really is. From the previous books, we get a vibe he has feelings for Kay but nobody really comes out and says it. We are left to believe there might be something there, but who really knows, because he's Tod. He's always been kind of a flirt and a big joker.

Well, the ending wasn't really what I expected. I honestly thought her dad would find a way out of everything and they'd all live happily ever after. Was I wrong? Read the book to find out.

Overall: I just loved this book. There are twists and surprises you won't see coming. Nothing really makes sense and that just amplifies the feelings in this book. Its exhilarating really. The end of the book, I started crying and wanted to punch something. It leaves you wanting that next book right now! I need to know what comes next!

Cover:
And I thought the fourth book was my favorite! I think this one tops it. Love it. I'm not a big fan of green but I still think its freaking neat.
