Summary: Bianca will risk everything to be with Lucas.

After escaping from Evernight, the vampire boarding school where they met, Bianca and Lucas seek refuge with Black Cross, an elite group of vampire hunters. Bianca must hide her supernatural heritage or risk certain death at its hands. But when Black Cross captures her friend—the vampire Balthazar—all her secrets threaten to come out.

Soon, Bianca and Lucas are on the run, pursued not only by Black Cross, but by the powerful vampires of Evernight. Yet no matter how far they run, Bianca can't escape her destiny. Bianca and Lucas have always believed their love could survive anything—but can it survive what's to come?

My Thoughts: When I started this series, I wouldn't know if I I would like it. I was so iffy about starting it. I had heard so many good and bad reviews, I was on the fence.

Hourglass starts out with Bianca and Lucas on the run, with Black Cross. They left Evernight after that horrible and violent battle, and now Bianca is learning the ways of Black Cross, how to battle a vampire. Sounds glorious right? Not if your a vampire! A vampire hunting vampires, kind of ironic, right?

In Hourglass, Bianca and Lucas just want to be together. They want to talk, touch each other, and just be able to share time together. This is harder than you would believe, because there is always someone around. They sleep in such tight quarters its hard to get a moment alone let alone for romance.

Bianca and Lucas are going about their business, trying to get enough money saved up to just take off. Until her parents lead a group right into their Black Cross headquarters, and Balthazar gets left behind captured. Now they have him and things can get real bad. Bianca is horrified, at the things they start to do to him to try to get information.

She only knows one thing, she can't let them kill him. She just can't.

Even though things are hectic, Bianca still has to eat. So, what happens? She gets caught with her fangs out and someone turns her in.  Lucas and Bianca must run somewhere else. And they must do it quick.

The couple runs and ends up staying with a friend for a while. Yes, Charity is also still around trying to cause trouble.

The wraiths are still out and about, and they are after Bianca.

People die, people change, we discover things we never knew in Hourglass.

Want to know what happens? Read the book to find out.

Overall: I really loved this one. I think it was much more interesting than the first two and had more of an actual plot. I think Bianca's character is definately growing, she's not so naive anymore and starts to make sense of things.

Cover: I think I like the black and white the most! Very mysterious.

What I'd Give It:
