Summary:
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

My Thoughts: Seriously, why did I even wait the 3 months to read this yummy novel? Oh gosh, it was so awesome.

We are introduced to Alex who is fighting daimons. She lost her mother recently and has been on her own for a little while. Her mother was everything to her, they had ran away from the Convenient three years ago and they had been on their own ever since. Just trying to make it, they moved around a lot and she never really had any real friends or a real house.

One night while fighting two daimons, a bunch of people show up, Sentinels. Including Aiden who is a few years older than Alex. He is also a pure.   Alex is returned to the Covenant, where she hopes to rejoin and fight her way to the top. However, the Dean isn't happy about it.  He wants her to become a slave for the Pures instead of rejoining her classmates and friends.   He figures she lost too much time and there is no way to catch up. Of course Aiden offers to help her and train her and get her up to speed.

The chemistry between Aiden and Alex is hot! Smoldering. I loved it. Every meeting they had was amazing and full of spunk! But, but, but romance between a Pure and a Half Blood is forbidden. Totally forbidden. Not possible.

And than comes Caleb, Alex's best friend. No, nothing happens between them but I liked his presence and it was fun.  Next, there is Seth. Whoa Seth. I don't really like that name a lot. But it grew on me. Him and Alex also had a special relationship and I can't wait until the next book to see where that goes.

Alex faces a lot of dilemma's in Half Blood. She is a strong character but she also has feelings that show us her true colors, how fragile she can be.

I've heard this book is compared to Vampire Academy. I have no clue if it is similar or not, because I'm one of the few who hasn't started that series yet... I know I know, I need to do that asap. LOL.

In my opinion, I wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did. I read Jennifer's book Obsidian and even though I did really enjoy that one, I liked this one even better!  I thought it was remarkable and I was sucked right into the storyline. The plot was pretty neat, and I loved all the characters!

Overall: I can't wait to read Pure!!! Seriously! I thought this book was super duper amazing! Loved everything about it!

Cover: Like it. Like the purple covers!

Gasp you waited to read an Armentrout book!! *Feels Princess Bookie's head for fever* jk.

I really enjoyed Half-Blood and I all out was in complete love with Pure. UGH I'm very torn between Aiden and Seth, book one was all Aiden but book two was all about Seth. Sigh, once again I have to choose between two hot male characters, why does this always happen to me!

I hope you enjoy Pure when you get a chance to read it. :)

I'm looking forward to the sequel as well! I actually had a hard time getting into this one because of the similarities between the VA series and Half Blood. I eventually got over it.

I haven't read the VA series either, haha. But I have read Half-Blood, and I LOVED it! :) I'm so happy that you liked it, too. I have Pure sitting on my shelf, so I can't wait to dive into that one either.
