Summary: We all want to be remembered. Charlotte's destiny is to be Forgotten...

Charlotte’s best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she’s cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what’s really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth, who feels the Need—a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.

But Charlotte never wanted this responsibility. What she wants is to help her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend's arms forever. But as the Need grows stronger, it begins to take a dangerous toll on Charlotte. And who she was, is, and will become--her mark on this earth, her very existence--is in jeopardy of disappearing completely.

Charlotte will be forced to choose: Should she embrace her fate as a Forgotten, a fate that promises to rip her from the lives of those she loves forever? Or is she willing to fight against her destiny--no matter how dark the consequences.

My Thoughts: I was really late in reading this one over everyone else, but I went into it with such high hopes. Yes, I liked it and enjoyed most of it, but I was left feeling a little underwhelmed.

We are introduced to Charlotte who always felt she was a little different. But being adopted can cause that, and she figured that was it. She has had the need, the need to help people, to tell them things they need to hear, and then once she does they forget her, and the feeling goes away for a while.

She has all the normal things a girl can have. A funny best friend, a cute boyfriend, and a few adopted siblings. Her life isn't that out of the ordinary.

Until she realizes that a family friend named Monroe is the only one who can help her with her new set of problems. Her skin is peeling, she’s seeing visions of a women, and the need is becoming more persistent and little details are disappearing from people’s minds. She finds out more about her history and she wants to stop it.

I don’t know. I didn't love this one like everyone else. I did enjoy it, but I expected it to be a 5 cupcake novel but it just quite wasn't. I am hoping the next in the series is.  I really liked Harlin (her boyfriend). Loved how he fit into the story line and how it ends with him.

Overall: I did enjoy this one a lot but I was expecting more. At times I felt the story was going too slow and too repetitive. I thought something huge would happen and it took awhile for that to happen.  I am hoping I’ll enjoy the second one much more and will be able to give it 5 cupcakes!

Cover: Love it! It’s so pretty and from the moment I saw it, I wanted to read it. Awesome cover!

I was very disappointed in this book. I adored the cover so much but the story let me down.
