Summary: A thrilling debut story of death, love, destiny, and danger

Lenzi hears voices and has visions - gravestones, floods, a boy with steel gray eyes. Her boyfriend, Zak, can't help, and everything keeps getting louder and more intense. Then Lenzi meets Alden, the boy from her dreams, who reveals that she's a reincarnated Speaker - someone who can talk to and help lost souls - and that he has been her Protector for centuries.

Now Lenzi must choose between her life with Zak and the life she is destined to lead with Alden. But time is running out: a malevolent spirit is out to destroy Lenzi, and he will kill her if she doesn't make a decision soon.

My Thoughts: I had this one in my TBR for a while and I finally got the chance to read it!

We are introduced to Lenzi who hears voices and sees visions. Her dad went a little crazy so she is scared this is what is happening to her too.

She has a boyfriend named Zak who seems a little possessive. Lenzi meets another boy named Alden and she knows him from somewhere. He has been in her visions.

Lenzi learns a lot more about Alden and who she really is. Turns out, she’s been around a long time but in different forms (people). Lenzi helps lost souls find peace. Lenzi and Alden have been close for a long time and have been in love but couldn’t really do anything about it.

I liked this one, I did but I just have a hard time relating to reincarnation type books. They seem interesting enough but I just can’t ever really get into them, or at least yet.

I liked Alden but I did not like Zak. He was just too controlling and I didn’t really like his personality.  He just wasn't my favorite.

I liked how Lenzi would help people and I liked seeing the outcomes from that. But I never really connected to the characters or the plot very well. I think it was an interesting story and if you like reincarnation and ghost stories you’ll probably enjoy this one more than I did.

I liked it enough, it just wasn't my favorite book of the year.

Overall: It had an interesting premise and I did finish it. It was an alright book! I can see where some people will absolutely love this one but it wasn't the right one for me at the time I guess. I just felt like I couldn’t fully connect with this one. Probably more of a 3.5 cupcake rating!

Cover: Like it! I do like the flower petals and how adorable it is!!
