Summary:  Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist meets Easy A in this hilariously realistic story of sneaking out, making out, and playing in a band.

After catching their bandmates in a compromising position, sixteen-year-old Los Angeles Riley and Reid become painfully aware of the romance missing from their own lives. And so a pact is formed: they'll both try to make something happen with their respective crushes and document the experiences in a shared notebook.

While Reid struggles with the moral dilemma of adopting a dog to win over someone's heart, Riley tries to make progress with Ted Callahan, who she's been obsessed with forever-His floppy hair! His undeniable intelligence! But suddenly cute guys are popping up everywhere. How did she never notice them before?! With their love lives going from 0 to 60 in the blink of an eye, Riley and Reid realize the results of their pact may be more than they bargained for.

My Thoughts:  I really enjoyed Spaldings novel The Reece Malcolm List, so I was really looking forward to this one.  Even though I liked Kissing Ted Callahan, I didn’t love it like I had hoped.

We are introduced to Reid and Riley.  Best friends, and bandmates. When they find out about the other two members in their band have started dating, Reid and Riley start a journal to help each other out. To help each other win over their crushes.

Reid likes a girl who works around dogs so he says he’s going to get a dog. And Riley likes a boy from school named Ted.  I didn’t really even like Ted. I don’t know, I never really connected with him. She also has a few other guys she is pursuing throughout this one.

I didn’t feel like enough happened in this one and even though it did have its fun moments, I just never really connected to the story or the characters. I did like one of the other guys that Reid was hanging out with though. That was my highlight of the story. I really did like her other novel I read, so I will continue to read more by Spalding!

Overall:  It was just ok. I did finish it and I thought it was ok but I still felt like something was missing. I just couldn’t get really into it I guess. I did like how things ended up though.

Cover:  Like it! Its kind of plain but still cute.  Like the lips!

What I’d Give It:
