The Seven Rays by Jessica Bendinger

Summary:You are more than you think you are.
THAT IS THE ANONYMOUS MESSAGE that Beth Michaels receives right before she starts seeing things. Not just a slept-through my-alarm-clock, late-for-homeroom, haven't had-my-caffeine-fix kind of seeing things. It all starts with some dots, annoying pink dots that pop up on and over her mom and her best friend's face. But then things get out of control and Beth is seeing people's pasts, their fears, their secrets, their desires. The images are coming at Beth in hi-def streaming video and she can't stop it. Everyone thinks she's crazy and she's pretty sure she agrees with them. But crazy doesn't explain the gold envelopes that have started arriving, containing seeing keys and mysterious tarot cards. To Beth, it all seems too weird to be true. You are more than you think you are? But here's the thing: What if she is?
My Thoughts: I want a sequel!!! We meet Beth who is a normal teenager who has hopes and dreams. She has a crush on Richie, one of the two brothers every girl wants. She lives her life like any other teenager and than that changes in an instant when she starts seeing people's past, secrets, anything that rotates off them. All of a sudden these gold envelopes start appearing with mysterious keys and tarot cards. Beth's mom is not on her side during all this, she puts her into an psychiatric ward and says its for her own good. Of course from the get go, we realize that her mom knows more than she lets on. She than starts to connect with Richie and he can read her thoughts. I won't give away the whole book here but I just want to say this is a great story, something original, and you don't see the whole plot and things surprise you. My favorite part of the book was when Richie and Beth were laying on the bed in the hotel, listening to music. If you want to know what happens to Beth, pick this book up. You won't be sorry. And all I can say is, I want a sequel and Jessica needs to hurry up and write one!!!
Overall: Really liked it a lot. I really liked Beth and Richie together. And I liked Beth's friends who were there for her, especially the one she makes while in the psych ward.
Cover: The cover is neat. I like the angle of her back and it gives me an idea of who Beth is. I also like the glare off the title.

Waiting on Wednesday 12/16(23)

Waiting on Wednesday was started by Jill over at Breaking The Spine!
Tagged by Mara Purnhagen
Summary: Kate Morgan is just as confused as the rest of her classmates when she arrives at Cleary High to find six life-size gorillas spray painted on the side of a building. Could the culprit be one of her friends or classmates? And is the kind-of-amazing creation really vandalism, or a work of art? She's tempted to stay out of it, mostly because, as the police chief’s daughter, she's always accused of being a snitch. But when gorillas start appearing throughout the state, her investigative instincts kick in.
Now Eli, Kate’s favorite co-worker at the local coffee shop, is MIA. With her best friend, Lan, preoccupied with her own boy troubles, Kate needs to figure out some things on her own. Like why she can’t stop thinking about Eli. And what she will do when all clues about the graffiti point to someone she knows...
Looks good and I love the cover!!! Can't wait!!

The Sweethearts' Knitting Club
By Lori Wilde
Summary: For ten years, pretty Flynn MacGregor has been turning down the same solid, upright man's marriage proposal. Her friends at the Sweethearts' Knitting Club tell her they're a match made in heaven, but Flynn knows there's only one dangerous reason why she keeps saying no: high school sweetheart Jesse Calloway. She was just sixteen when Jesse was forced out of town under a cloud of suspicion . . . but he's never left her heart. Now Jesse is back, and every time she turns the corner he's there—gazing at her with his smoldering eyes and tempting her with his kisses. Jesse has never played by the rules, and he's made it clear that he's not going to now.
My Thoughts: I have read a few of Lori's previous work and loved them so when I heard about this one, I knew I had to read it as soon as it was released. We meet Flynn who is an all around good nice girl who always puts everyone else first because she cares about people. She has turned down the sheriff's marriage proposal 4 times now because she still has a soft spot in her heart for another man (even though she tells herself this isn't why). Its been 10 years and as soon as she lays eyes on Jesse again, she gets that schoolgirl weak in the knees feeling he used to give her.Jesse is back in town, fresh out of prison for a crime he was innocent off, and he wants one thing, to get the girl he has been longing for back, and maybe even take down the real criminal in the process.
I loved Jesse from that first paragraph. He is dangerous and sexy, even though really he's a softie. He was so sexy it gave me chills as I read about him. One thing that I especially liked was the way he called Flynn Dimples. Whoa Baby!
I loved the knitting angle of this book, I loved the relationships, I loved Flynn and Jesse and wanted them together from the get go. This book was sweet and sexy and I loved it so much! I'm looking forward to reading The True Love Quilting Club which comes out in April 2010. This book is a must read if your a romance fan and ever think about that guy from 10 years ago, you know the one I'm talking about, the one who got away.
Overall: Loved Loved Loved Loved it!! Go get yourself a copy now! Don't wait, dive right into this one!
Cover: I think its really cute! Love the house, love the background, love it all!
